It is vital that the SEANZ guidelines are read in conjunction with any learning design.

 

 

At each class level teachers should design learning that  

  • connects with theme impulse for the year  

  • connects with pedagogical aims for the year  

  • connects with the key capacities  

  • connects with He Reo Puawai

Each school will have their own schedule of Main lessons and support lessons and these may differ from school to school.

 

Design of learning should always begin with checking what has been taught historically.

If changes are being made to localise the curriculum it is important to be mindful of why things have been taught in the past.

 

A balanced programme of essential learning for the high school would consist of 

 

We suggest any overview of main lessons and other units of learning are assessed against the theme, capacities and pedagogical aims on a regular basis.
